Ranch Rules & Regulations

1. Scope

Rancho Valle Monarca (the “Ranch”) provides lodging, food service and space for social events, youth and adult camps, wellness retreats, corporate activities and nature tourism, on its 27 acres (11 hectares) of forest in Los Saucos, Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico.

These rules apply differently depending on the type of stay:

2. General stay rules

1. Check-in: every guest, camper and visitor registers on arrival; groups must submit a complete attendee list before the event.
2. Hours: arrival and departure as agreed in the quote; staying beyond those hours is subject to availability and an additional charge.
3. Shared areas: the private forest, fire pits and covered hall are shared spaces; please respect the hours and capacity limits indicated by staff.
4. Campfires: only in designated areas and under Ranch staff supervision. Lighting fires outside those areas is prohibited.
5. Pets: subject to the Ranch's current policy. Please ask before bringing pets to an event.
6. Belongings: the Ranch is not responsible for valuables left unsecured.
7. Alcohol (adult groups): permitted for guests of legal drinking age and with responsible consumption. The Ranch may ask anyone in a state that endangers others to leave.
8. Conduct: we expect respect toward other guests, staff and the property. Damage to furnishings or infrastructure is charged to whoever causes it.

3. Additional rules for minors and guardians

Applies to youth camps.

• Every minor must be represented by a parent or legal guardian to enroll — this is mandatory.
• Guardian waiver: required to participate in any camp activity. It includes the signer's identification, relationship to the minor, authorized activities, health status, authorization for emergency medical care, and an emergency contact.
• Medical information: the parent or guardian must report allergies, health conditions, medications and dietary restrictions before the camp begins. This information also goes to the kitchen team for safe food handling under NOM-251.
• Supervision: Ranch staff supervise minors during scheduled camp activities according to the established age groups. Outside scheduled activities, the supervision described in the camp program applies.
• Photography authorization: a separate document from the activity waiver (see Privacy Policy, image section). Not granting it does not prevent the minor from enrolling.

4. Risk acknowledgment and valid waiver

Applies to the adult guest or the minor's legal guardian. The document:

• Acknowledges the ordinary inherent risks of outdoor activity: hiking, uneven forest terrain, campfires, and water activities where applicable.
• States that the Ranch maintains supervision and reasonable safety measures in the areas and facilities it operates directly.
• Does not constitute a full waiver of consumer rights and does not release negligence, willful misconduct or gross fault by the Ranch.
• For third-party activities contracted by the client (Scenario C), it includes the specific release clause in section 5.
• Expressly binds acceptance of these Ranch Rules and the policies in effect.

5. Outside activities and vendors

Scenario C.

When the client or organizer contracts a third party directly to run risk activities (horseback riding, zip lines or similar) on Ranch grounds:

• The Ranch does not hire, manage or operationally supervise the vendor — the client or organizer hires them directly, at their own account and risk.
• Admission checklist — before operating on the property, every outside vendor must provide:
  • A copy of their current liability insurance policy.
  • Evidence of compliance with NOM-011-TUR-2001 (operations manual and contingency plan).
  • Guide certification under NOM-09-TUR-2002.
  • Government-issued ID for the vendor's responsible party.
• The vendor operates in a marked, delimited area separate from the rest of the property.
• The client or organizer releases the Ranch from liability arising from the conduct of outside vendors they hire, without prejudice to the liability that corresponds to the Ranch as owner of the property under applicable law.

6. Food service and sanitation

• The Ranch operates its food service under NOM-251-SSA1-2009 — Mexico's federal food-hygiene standard — and an internal sanitation manual covering personal hygiene, holding temperatures, first-in-first-out rotation, cleaning and disinfection.
• Kitchen staff are trained in safe food handling.
• Dietary restrictions and allergies reported by the guest are accommodated to the extent reasonably possible; it is the guest's responsibility to report them in advance.

7. Disciplinary and administrative measures

1. Verbal warning and corrective guidance.
2. Formal warning to the adult guest, legal guardian or group organizer.
3. Temporary suspension of the activity or of access to a specific area.
4. Removal from the property without refund for serious or repeated violations, or those that endanger others.

8. Relationship to other documents

These rules should be read together with the Ranch's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. In case of doubt, the interpretation that best protects safety, hygiene, the best interests of children and consumer rights under Mexican law prevails.

9. Acknowledgment signature

The adult guest, the minor's legal guardian, or the group organizer must sign an acknowledgment at the time of booking or enrollment. The Ranch may retain physical or digital evidence of acceptance.

Annex — Regulatory references

These are Mexican federal standards (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas). They function much like federal codes and regulations in the United States.
